Alternative Administrative Arrangements (AAAs) are temporary, supportive measures that may be considered after a learner raises a concern about mistreatment or the learning environment that involve exploring the feasibility of moving to a new team or site with a learner’s program, with their consent. They are intended to support the learner’s safety and well-being while enabling their education to continue, where feasible, as determined by program leadership. It may not always be possible to implement an AAA depending on patient care needs and / or the learning objectives/requirements of a training program, and feasibility is assessed, as noted, by the program. AAAs are considered on a case-by-case basis and do not represent a finding of wrongdoing or a conclusion about any individual involved. Every effort will be made to respect the privacy of those involved, with information shared only as necessary to implement the arrangement and address the concern.
