Committees and Councils
The following standing committees and councils advise on issues relevant to the Medical Education portfolio, in support of its mandate to provide strategic and operational leadership and support for the alignment and integration of learner supports and programs, faculty processes and systems across the continuum of medical education.
Data Management Advisory Group
With the ultimate goal of assuring optimal experiences within and across the diverse physical locations, contexts and cultures in which medical students, residents and fellows learn, the advisory group serves as a forum for coordinated discussion, consultation and development of recommendations regarding the collection, evaluation/analysis and reporting of MD and PGME learning experience/environment data in a harmonized and aligned manner.
Faculty Development Advisory Committee
To support continued alignment and integration of faculty development across the medical learner continuum, the Faculty Development Advisory Committee serves as a forum for coordinated discussion, consultation and development of recommendations to inform implementation of faculty development initiatives across Temerty Medicine.
Learner Experience Advisory Council
The LEAC will develop strategies to qualitatively and quantitatively understand the experiences of medical students and post-graduate medical trainees (residents and clinical fellows) and use this data to recommend processes, policies, and guiding principles as to how to optimize the learning environment through (1) mitigating the impact of negative events on learners and (2) re-enforcing positive cultural norms and professional values.
Learner Wellness Advisory Committee
The Learner Wellness Advisory Committee serves as a forum for coordinated discussion, consultation and development of strategies and recommendations to help ensure the best possible learning environment and experience for Undergraduate medical (MD students) and health professions learners and Postgraduate medical learners (residents and fellows) at all campuses across the Temerty Faculty of Medicine.
Medical Education Executive Committee
The Medical Education Executive Committee is advisory to the Vice Dean, Medical Education with respect to management of the programs and units that fall under the Medical Education portfolio.
Simulation Education Advisory Committee
The SEAC gathers and shares information about educational simulation activities, develops guidelines to streamline processes and improve access to simulation resources, promotes innovation and best practice, and creates a vision for education simulation in the Faculty of Medicine.
