This session is intended for Junior and Senior Academy Scholars who will be teaching Clerkship Portfolio in 2017-18. Returning Academy Scholars are welcome.

During this interactive session, you will review how to facilitate small group sessions and understand the attributes of an effective facilitator. Strategies for fostering critical reflection will be reviewed and you will have an opportunity to use a rubric to assess several student reflections. You will have the opportunity to share experiences with your peers about the successes and challenges of small group facilitation and marking reflections.

At the end of the session, you will be able to:

  • Practice small group facilitation
  • Incorporate Strategies for fostering critical reflection
  • Use a rubric to assess student reflections and provide effective feedback
  • Share experiences and challenges of small group facilitation and marking reflections
